Eleanor (Elle) passionately believes that the sharing economy can change the world, helping people to save money and lead happier, more sustainable lives.
A board member of the CBI Sharing Economy council and a consultant specialising in sharing economy businesses, Eleanor has become the go-to expert and speaker globally in this space. Wondering what the sharing economy is? Think any business that starts with ‘the Airbnb of’… from renting out your driveway or campervan using an app, to hiring a designer dress from someone for the night, or using a platform to swap skills or services like housesitting.

In her ‘hilarious and brilliantly topical’ debut non-fiction book, Thanks For Sharing, which is due out in spring 2023, Eleanor demystifies the sharing economy by sharing her own experiences giving up buying and embracing swapping, borrowing and renting.

Originally from Oxford, Eleanor cut her teeth as an advertising creative, then moved seamlessly into a half-decade long career as a journalist, writing for women’s magazines and broadsheets such as the Guardian on subjects ranging from gender politics to social issues and mental health – as well as working for Channel 4 and the BBC and appearing on the radio.
She went on to co-found the first communications agency to focus on the sharing economy, then a trailblazing marketing agency specialising in two-sided marketplaces. Eleanor now speaks, writes and advises on gig and sharing economy models – working internationally in this space helping start-ups and scale-ups to launch, grow and thrive. She is also represented by one of the UK’s top literary and talent agencies, 42 Management & Production.
Eleanor loves developing relationships all around the world with like-minded individuals and businesses. She co-founded the Sharing Economy Global Summit, hosts the Platform Podcast, and frequently gives workshops and presentations at conferences, talking passionately about the sharing and gig economy.
She loves inspiring change. “I love it when I’m telling people about what I do and the type of businesses I work with, and I can see the penny dropping, and people thinking – that’s amazing, that could really change the world.”
