Anchoring a live current affairs programme means keeping to time, drawing real answers out of guests and holding a room whatever happens in it. Rona Dougall does that nightly on STV and brings the same control and warmth to hosting conferences, debates and awards.
Rona has anchored Scotland Tonight, STV’s current affairs programme, since its launch in 2011, interviewing first ministers, business leaders and public figures on the stories shaping Scotland. Before STV she was Sky News Scotland correspondent for more than fifteen years, reporting on major national stories as they broke.
That journalistic instinct is what sets her apart as a presenter and host. She works with clients from the earliest planning stages, helping shape the brief and the running order, then keeps things moving on the day: managing multiple speakers, stepping in with the right question when a session needs it, and holding the energy without forcing it.
She has hosted conferences, panels and awards across business, property, education and the public sector, for organisations including the Scottish Property Federation, the Scottish Grocers’ Federation, Law Society of Scotland and the Scottish Council of Independent Schools. Event organisers tend to book her back.
Rona is available to host, chair or facilitate events across Scotland and beyond.
